Summer is seafood season — 4 star hotels unveil seasonal seafood to satisfy foodies' cravings

To satisfy these cravings, The Regent Taipei recently launched an afternoon tea featuring unlimited fresh sea urchins and oysters air-flown from Penghu. The Chung Yuan Tower of Shangri-La’s Far Eastern International Hotel in Tainan launched the “Penghu Seafood Season,” while Taipei Far Eastern Café launched the “Seafood YEAH!” event, highlighting ingredients such as king crab legs, swimming crabs, grilled oysters, Icelandic cod, and Norwegian salmon.

Every year during June and July, it’s peak season for Penghu’s sea urchins and oysters, always attracting large crowds looking to try them fresh. Starting June 1, The Cloud Yuan Western Restaurant at The Regent Taipei has been revamped and collaborates with Penghu suppliers to daily air-freight freshly harvested sea urchins and oysters. From Monday to Friday during the afternoon tea hours, guests can enjoy them all-you-can-eat, along with a selection of buffet dishes. The price is NT$1,280 per person (plus 10% service charge).

Tainan Shangri-La Launches Penghu Seafood Season — Carefully Selected Fresh Catch

Shangri-La’s Far Eastern International Hotel in Tainan also attracts diners with Penghu seafood. From June 15 to July 19, the Chung Yuan Tower presents the “Penghu Seafood Season,” featuring the season’s freshest seafood. Carefully selected wild Penghu seafood such as clams, stone crabs, and mussels are used to create over 30 dishes. Prices start from NT$320 per dish, with a four-person set menu at NT$3,800.

Far Eastern Café Launches Seafood YEAH Event — Featuring King Crab Legs and Icelandic Cod

Starting in June, every Tuesday evening, Taipei Far Eastern Café launches the “Seafood YEAH!” event, featuring king crab legs, swimming crabs, grilled oysters, Icelandic cod, and Norwegian salmon. There are also a variety of Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Indian-style seafood dishes. The price is NT$1,990 per person. In addition to the usual sashimi and nigiri sushi, the event also offers grilled sushi with salmon, tuna, scallops, and shrimp.

To welcome the arrival of summer, The Gaia Hotel Taipei’s Latitude 25 now offers a variety of classic Spanish dishes. Using fresh seafood and meats combined with Eastern and Western spices to deliver summer flavors, such as garlic stir-fried mussels, honey-spicy grilled chicken, and garlic-chili shrimp, starting from NT$280 per dish. There are also several popular main courses perfect for evening dining, including king crab risotto, truffle seafood fried rice, and premium American wagyu steak, starting from NT$620 per dish.
