Taipei City Dragon Boat FestivalThe “Waterfront Taipei – Dragon Boat Festival Carnival”kicks off on the 19th, with the Tourism and Communications Bureau specially launching the “Passion for Dragon Boats & Zongzi” tour itinerary. The public can cheer on dragon boat racers, then explore attractions such as the expanded Dragon Boat Festival market at Ximending Red House and Taipei Tianhou Temple, and enjoy traditional Taipei delicacies for a fun-filled holiday.

The “2015 Waterfront Taipei – Dragon Boat Festival Carnival” series of events officially kicks off from the 19th to the 21st, with the highlight being the “Taipei International Dragon Boat Championships.” This year, over 300 teams and 6,000 participants are expected, making it the largest dragon boat event in the country. The series also includes the Food Truck Creative Zone, Zongzi Art Grand Gathering – Zongzi Wrapping Competition, High-Altitude Egg Balancing Challenge, and a family game area at the Grassland Amusement Park.

After participating in the Dragon Boat Festival events, visitors can also head to sites like the Lin An-Tai Historical House, Ximending Red House Plaza, Taipei Tianhou Temple, and Bangka Longshan Temple to experience the charm of old Taipei. Additionally, to beat the summer heat, the itinerary features introductions to “Chengdu Starfruit Ice,” which has been around for nearly 50 years, and “Wang Ji Fucheng Zongzi,” open for over 20 years.
