Super cute！Tainan’s Xiaying “Winnie the Pooh Mural Village” combines traditional temple street culture

Are you a fan of Winnie the Pooh? Located in Xiaying District, Tainan, there is the only Winnie the Pooh mural village in Taiwan, created by several local youths who have produced cartoon art combined with local characteristics, attracting Pooh fans to come on a “pilgrimage.”

Xiaying in Tainan is a simple rural area, where the view is filled with low-rise houses and old-style buildings. The local youths who initiated the project beautified their grandparents’ homes by painting Winnie the Pooh-themed designs on the rooftops and walls. The area extends outward from Lane 45, Civilization Street, giving this ordinary small village a delightful childlike atmosphere.

Inside the mural village, Winnie the Pooh is seen lying down or sitting in various adorable poses. To incorporate local characteristics, the creators also integrated the area’s symbolic landmarks — “Xiaying Xuan Tian San Di Jun” and “Mao Gang Wei Bao Tian Hou Gong” — into the paintings, using the murals to help visitors learn about Xiaying.

In addition to Winnie the Pooh, childhood memories of those born in the '70s and '80s — such as Yu Yu Hakusho, Kochikame, Slam Dunk, Snoopy, Doraemon, One Piece, and characters from Spirited Away like the Bathhouse and No-Face — have also become part of the mural village. Even more special is that the murals are periodically updated, and there are QR codes for scanning to get more information.
