Japan’s Version of “Brown Sugar Avenue” – Sip on a Slimming Brown Rice Coffee

Though surrounded by scenery reminiscent of Taitung’s Brown Sugar Avenue, I was actually in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. This scenic café named “Midori,” nestled in the countryside, is housed in what looks like an ordinary residential home. Yet, it serves the owner’s unique brown rice coffee. It’s said that after drinking it regularly, the owner went from being overweight to slim. So, what’s the magic behind this coffee?

Golden rice stalks on both sides and layered mountain ranges in the distance made the scene strikingly similar to Taitung’s Brown Sugar Avenue. Though there’s no famous Tree of Jincheng Wu here, there is a quaint little scenic café tucked away in the fields.
