Traveling to Pingxi just got more expensive！Taiwan Railways’ “Three Major Branch Line” One-Day Passes Increase in Price Starting the 15th

Taiwan Railways branch line one-day passes are going up in price！Taiwan Railways announced that starting the 15th, branch line section fares will be implemented, along with an adjustment of the prices for branch line one-day passes. Among them, the “Shen’ao and Pingxi Double Branch Line One-Day Pass” sees the highest increase, rising from the original 64 NT dollars to 80 NT dollars.

Taiwan Railways stated that starting the 15th, the one-day passes for the three branch lines—Shen’ao and Pingxi Double Branch Line, Neiwan Line (including Liujia Line), and Jiji Line—will all be adjusted (below are the prices after the increase):

1. “Shen’ao and Pingxi Double Branch Line One-Day Pass”: Full fare 80 NT dollars, concession fare 40 NT dollars.
2. “Neiwan Line (including Liujia Line) One-Day Pass”: Full fare 95 NT dollars, concession fare 50 NT dollars.
3. “Jiji Line One-Day Pass”: Full fare 90 NT dollars, concession fare 45 NT dollars.

In addition, starting the 15th, Taiwan Railways will also implement section fares for branch lines: within 10 kilometers, the fare is 15 NT dollars; beyond 10 kilometers, an additional 5 NT dollars is charged for every 3.5 kilometers (any distance less than 3.5 kilometers will be calculated as 3.5 kilometers).
