Summer Festival in Monster Village！2-month "Demon God Festival" & Carnival to Kick Off

The Monster Village summer festival is set to begin again. Each summer, the lively and festive celebrations encourage visitors to explore the early life of Xitou villagers, offering an entertaining way to inherit local history and culture. This year from June 27 (Sat) to August 30 (Sun), the event will once again feature the demon spirit “Hei Xie Su” as the main character, hosting a two-month Demon God Festival. Guests can sip on limited-edition Kuma Beer while joining in the summer festivities.

In addition to dynamic drum performances and fun competitions, the traditional Monster Carnival has been expanded this year into the “Monster Mask Carnival,” extending its duration from the first to the seventeenth day of the seventh lunar month (August 14 to August 30). More monsters will be selected and invited to join the daily grand parade. During the carnival, apart from the highly anticipated “Great Gathering of Monsters” and “Monster Grand Parade,”

On August 14, the opening ceremony of the Monster Mask Carnival will feature a taiko drum competition, bringing together taiko groups from across Taiwan to gather at Monster Village. Five groups are expected to be selected to perform during the monster parade. The organizers stated that on August 22, they will call on all talents to join the “2015 Monster Village Cosplay Makeup Competition,” with the top prize being a cash award of NT$50,000.
