Super Cool！New Taipei's Xinwutai National Sports Center Opens on the 19th — Free for the First 2 Weeks

Another national sports center has been added to New Taipei City！After more than two years of effort, the 7th sports center planned and managed by the New Taipei City Government’s Public Works Department —the Xinwutai National Sports Center — has been completed ahead of schedule and is about to enter its operational launch phase. Trial operations will run from July 19 to August 1, with the entire facility open to the public for free from 8 AM to 8 PM daily,and official operations will begin on August 5.

The Xinwutai Sports Center is fully equipped internally, with the following facilities on each floor:

1st Floor
Warm-water swimming pool (25M × 18M)
Outdoor rock climbing wall (8m high × 10m wide)
SPA pool, children’s pool, sauna, steam room, and concession stand
2nd Floor
Chess and reading room, children’s playroom, meeting room, and offices
3rd Floor
Multi-purpose courts: 2 basketball courts, 6 badminton courts, and 1 volleyball court
Billiard room (5 tables), fitness center, and spinning studio
4th Floor
Rhythm dance studio and table tennis room (5 tables)
5th Floor
Martial arts studio and squash courts (2 rooms)

The New Taipei City Education Bureau’s Sports Division stated that during the two-week trial operation period, a variety of experience-based activity courses will be offered. These include swimming lessons (for toddlers, children, and adults), squash, basketball, badminton, table tennis, billiards, toddler physical training, soccer, rock climbing/bouldering, and more. Aside from the center’s scheduled hours, members of the public can book these experiences as long as the minimum class size is met.

Additionally, experience courses such as toddler physical activities, table tennis, mini tennis, rock climbing/bouldering, and billiards require advance registration (a minimum of 6 participants to start a class). For court rentals, please register in advance during the center’s open hours.
