In recent years, thanks to direct cross-strait flights, the passenger volume of the海峡号 this year is also expected to exceed 400,000. With Taipei to Pingtan taking just three hours, many travelers not only visit Pingtan but also make trips to Fuzhou. When it comes to Fuzhou, besides the famous Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, visitors can also explore the Tianchi Grassland and Haixi Glacier Grand Canyon at China Cloudtop, but the most unique attraction is undoubtedly the “Egg-shaped House Hotel,” which offers a brand-new travel experience.

The Egg House Hotel at China Cloudtop is commonly referred to as the “QQ Egg House.” Attractions such as the Tianchi Grassland and the Canyon Scenic Area are all part of the Yida Tourism Group. Yida (Fujian) Tourism Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujian Xinhengji Group, with total assets exceeding 7 billion RMB. It has developed the Cloudtop Tourist Area into a national 4A-level scenic spot covering an area of 36 square kilometers.

The ticket price for the China Cloudtop Scenic Area isn’t cheap. A one-day trip costs approximately 115 RMB per person for the entrance fee, 40 RMB for the cable car, and 35 RMB for the sightseeing bus up the mountain, totaling around 190 RMB—close to 1,000 New Taiwan Dollars. However, the grandeur of its natural landscapes is absolutely worth seeing. Be aware that the entire guided tour takes at least 2–3 hours and involves hiking, so visitors should pay attention to their physical condition.

The Grand Canyon is another must-see for nature lovers, featuring seven uniquely shaped waterfalls, including the Ginseng Waterfall, Rainbow Waterfall, and Golden Bell Waterfall. Although the descent takes about two hours of walking, the breathtaking scenery helps you forget the fatigue, and the area is known locally as a “natural oxygen bar.”

The most astonishing attraction is the creatively designed Egg House Hotel. In addition to egg-shaped domes, there are also wooden cabins. Room rates range from 380 RMB to 3,988 RMB, with double rooms in the Egg Houses priced at 998 RMB. They are categorized into Gold Nest, Silver Nest, Colorful Nest, Joyful Nest, and Happy Nest, mainly designed according to feng shui principles. Set against the backdrop of lush green mountains, staying in an Egg House feels like stepping into a fairy-tale world.

And when visiting Fuzhou, you certainly shouldn’t miss the classic charm of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. With the rise of cultural and creative industries in mainland China, the area has also given birth to numerous creative shops. Additionally, Fuzhou fish balls, Tongli meat dumplings, and Mujin meatballs are must-try local delicacies for anyone traveling to Fuzhou.
