It’s like stepping into a giant fairy tale world！ New Taipei Children’s Art Festival’s Fairy Tale Castle to Open in August

The New Taipei City Children’s Art Festival was previously suspended due to the Formosa Fun Coast dust explosion incident but has been resumed after coordination by the Cultural Affairs Bureau. Among its highlights, the “Fairy Tale Castle” will reopen from August 8 to 16 at Civic Square, while the “435 Creative Magic City” will run from July 21 to August 30 in Banciao’s 435 Art Zone. Children and adults alike are invited to make a wish and become the star of their own story！

Fairy Tale Castle

Giant Installations
Well-known fairy tale characters will appear at Civic Square, including a five-story-tall Nutcracker soldier, Snow White, the Ox Demon King, and the Big Bad Wolf chasing the Three Little Pigs. Other characters such as the Genie Giant, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Peter Pan will transform the square into a huge fairy tale world.
Fairy Tale Experience
Elements from fairy tale plots will be scattered throughout the Fairy Tale Castle. See an enormous pair of glass slippers—can you guess which fairy tale character they belong to? Guess correctly and you could become the main character in a fairy tale yourself！
Taiwan Original Fairy Tales
Native Taiwanese tales such as the legends of the Atayal people, stories about spotted deer, and folktales like "Grasshopper Playing Chicken" will also be presented to children, offering a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s unique stories.
Fairy Tale Interaction Zones
Daily hours: 10:00–21:00. Exciting and fun game challenges await children.

435 Creative Magic City
Activities Include:
A total of seven magical secret rooms await children to solve. There will be theme-based interactive activities, performances, fun DIY sessions, and a magic creativity market.

3. Magic Dad’s Puppet Show
4. Creative Music and Dance Performance
5. Magic Creativity Acrobatics Show

Other events affected by the Formosa Fun Coast dust explosion, such as the Children’s Art Festival’s Happy Costume Parade, the New Taipei International Drumming Festival, and the Midsummer Night Concert in Xizhi, remain canceled.
