Flying high is no longer a dream！ China Airlines to recruit 100 Taiwanese flight attendants

To prepare for new routes launching by the end of 2015 and to welcome the 14 new A350 aircraft that will be delivered starting next year, China Airlines has announced it will recruit 100 new Taiwanese flight attendants. The recruits are expected to complete both air and ground academic training before the peak travel seasons of Chinese New Year and winter break next year, after which they will begin serving passengers.

For this recruitment of Taiwanese flight attendants, China Airlines will use Taipei as the base for flight assignments. The application period runs from August 14 to August 30 (online applications only), with the preliminary round scheduled for September 12. Eligibility requirements include holding a bachelor’s degree or higher recognized by the Ministry of Education and achieving a TOEIC score of 600 or demonstrating equivalent English proficiency. Male applicants who have been discharged from military service before November 2, 2015, are also eligible to apply.

China Airlines stated that the preliminary round will mainly consist of document screening and interviews. Those who pass the preliminary round will be invited to the second round on September 19, which includes an interview and assessment of service professionalism. Based on the results of the second-round interviews, selected candidates will then undergo a comprehensive evaluation including a physical examination, pre-employment investigation, and English proficiency test. Successful candidates are expected to begin their nine-week pre-service training in batches starting November 9, covering basic air and ground subjects.

In the first half of this year, China Airlines recruited a total of 400 flight attendants from Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. They are currently undergoing phased training and are gradually beginning service. This intake will help meet the demands of new routes launching in September, such as Kaohsiung–Changzhou, and in October, such as Taoyuan–Melbourne–Christchurch, Kaohsiung–Kumamoto, Kaohsiung–Fukuoka, and Tainan–Osaka. The airline also plans to hold a recruitment drive for Vietnamese flight attendants in October.
