The Tourism Authority of Thailand extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the victims and their families affected by this explosion. The people of Thailand offer their heartfelt prayers and wishes..

The explosion occurred at around 7:00 PM on Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Ratchaprasong intersection. Thai authorities have since strengthened security checks at major tourist attractions in Bangkok. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by police. As of 7:00 AM on Tuesday, August 18, Bangkok time, the reported casualties are 22 deaths and 123 injuries. The relevant authorities are contacting the families of the victims and assisting the injured in receiving treatment at local hospitals.The Thai tourism industry is making every effort to assist travelers affected by the incident, including providing interpreters and immediate travel arrangement support.

The Thai police urge both Thai nationals and travelers to remain vigilant. In response to this event, police presence has been increased, and security measures have been strengthened in major tourist areas across Bangkok. Patrols across the city have also been enhanced to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Meanwhile, daily life in Bangkok continues as normal. All government offices and banks are operating according to regular business hours.
