Square, heart-shaped, and cartoon-themed chocolates are common on the market, but have you ever seen chicken foot-shaped chocolates?Pin Taiwan Handmade DessertsThe chicken foot chocolates are incredibly lifelike, and their flavors are also unique and distinctly Taiwanese, including six options: basil, garlic, star anise, mustard, chili, and crispy fried shallots. Why was the chicken foot chocolate developed (the product is called "Flavored Braised Chicken Chocolate")? Shop manager Hsiang Hui-chi explained that Pin Taiwan is constantly looking for cultural symbols that can highlight Taiwanese characteristics. Since chicken foot jelly is a uniquely Taiwanese snack, but foreign visitors are often hesitant to try it, they wondered if combining chocolate with the shape of a chicken foot might increase the likelihood of foreigners trying it. Moreover, not only is the appearance strikingly realistic, but the flavors are also authentically Taiwanese, featuring six options: basil, garlic, star anise, mustard, chili, and crispy fried shallots — completely redefining people’s perception of chocolate.

Hsiang Hui-chi said that all of Pin Taiwan’s chocolates are handmade, with complex and meticulous production processes. It often takes 2–3 days from start to finish. Because they are handmade, quantities are limited and sell out quickly. She also emphasized that the chocolate ingredients are imported from Belgium and France, and the finished chocolates contain no emulsifiers, so they melt easily at room temperature and must be refrigerated. Their shelf life is only 3–7 days.

Although Pin Taiwan started as a chocolate dessert shop, it later opened a bakery. In addition to chocolates, it also offers cakes, macarons, German pancakes, and even fried snacks like french fries, chicken wings, and chicken tenders, as well as iron pot noodles. Additionally, since the shop has a kitchen, it also began offering business lunches, including pork belly rice, pork chop rice, and spaghetti.

▲ Edible spoon chocolate. The chocolate is shaped into cubes, with a German-imported wooden spoon embedded inside. The food-grade wooden spoon allows you to place the chocolate in hot milk, letting the rich chocolate fully melt into the milk. Alternatively, you can pick up the spoon chocolate and take a bite to enjoy the chocolate directly.
