Exclusive/English-authorized "Town Water Slide" to make October debut in Jiji, limited to 2,000 participants

Following Yilan, Nantou County’s Jiji Township will also introduce a water slide. On October 3 and 4, the "Rush the Town" event will be held in the Green Tunnel. Authorized from the UK, the town water slide features a 100-meter-long slide running through the Green Tunnel, with participation limited to 2,000 people, allowing visitors to experience Jiji Township from a unique perspective.

Walking through the Green Tunnel in a different way and perspective allows for a fresh exploration of Jiji Township. Cheng Shiyu, CEO of organizer Left Brain Creative Marketing, said the reason for choosing a town rather than a city is to allow more visitors to deeply understand Jiji. "Jiji is not just about the little train — there are also mountain bananas and handmade guitar shops, as well as Taiwan’s first wildlife emergency rescue station, all lesser-known features of Jiji."

The town water slide originates from Bristol, UK, with the aim of promoting the charm of small towns. The beauty of Jiji lies not only in its culture but also in its natural greenery. The Green Tunnel in Jiji Township, made up of camphor trees stretching 4.5 kilometers, is lush with foliage in summer and offers swaying green shadows in early autumn — both are unique sights of Jiji. Hosting the water slide event in the Green Tunnel is meant to allow more visitors to see Jiji from a different angle.

The "Rush the Town" water slide event will take place on October 3 and 4. Tickets are sold online by the organizer. For NT$799, participants can enjoy unlimited rides on the water slide for two hours during designated time slots. With only 2,000 spots available over the two days, participants can also become VIP players of Jiji Township, receiving souvenirs such as a Jiji Line train commemorative ticket, a Jiji VIP travel passport, and specialty agricultural products.
