The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, bringing with it a three-day holiday. Traveling abroad seems like a great option. Skyscanner recently released a list of the top 10 cities Taiwanese people most want to visit during the 2015 Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. Whether traveling solo or with family and kids, “Tokyo” was ranked as the number one city Taiwanese people want to travel to during the holiday. Depending on traveler profiles, Osaka and Okinawa took the second spot respectively. According to statistics, compared to the previous week, the willingness of Taiwanese people to travel abroad during the holiday break increased significantly by 35%, indicating that celebrating the holiday overseas is gradually becoming one of the options for Taiwanese during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In the 2015 ranking of the cities Taiwanese people most want to travel to during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, for both solo travelers and families/groups (regardless of whether they bring children), convenient Asian cities remain popular destinations among Taiwanese, especially with Japanese cities taking the top three spots. According to Skyscanner’s data, during this summer holiday period, regardless of whether they had children, Tokyo and Osaka consistently ranked as the top two cities Taiwanese wanted to visit. A couple of months later, Okinawa has now pushed Osaka out of the second spot, climbing to rank two — showing that Okinawa may become the next hot destination for family travel in Japan.
