NokScoot launches Taipei–Bangkok flights, selling 5,000 round-trip zero-dollar tickets starting at 15:00 today

NokScoot, jointly established by Singapore-based Scoot and Thailand’s Nok Air, will officially launch its Taipei–Thailand route on October 26. To celebrate the launch, from 15:00 on September 8 to 23:59 on September 23, NokScoot will offer 5,000 round-trip zero-dollar tickets.

At today’s (September 8) launch press conference, NokScoot stated that passengers can not only take direct flights between Taipei and Bangkok but also connect to Nok Air’s domestic flights to over 20 cities in Thailand. The flights will be operated by the Boeing 777-200ER, with four round-trip flights per week.

NokScoot is based at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, and currently operates flights to Nanjing. It mainly uses the Boeing 777-200 aircraft, which has a total of 415 seats, including 24 business class and 391 economy class. Civil Aeronautics Administration, Air Transport Division ChiefHan Zhen-huasaid that there are currently 12 daily flights between Taiwan and Thailand, and with the addition of NokScoot, more choices can be provided to consumers. Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Taipei OfficeShang Songalso stated that they hope to promote Thai culture, local charm, and shopping experiences—the Thai-style happiness—through more flights.

NokScoot stated that this promotion is valid from October 26 to March 26, 2016. The offer applies only to round-trip tickets, not one-way tickets. Additionally, the fare does not include taxes of NT$3,040 as well as baggage and meal fees. Special holiday periods such as December 23 to January 4 and February 2 to February 16 are also excluded.
