Tigerair Taiwan secures three cross-strait flight rights; new destinations expected before year-end

Taiwan's first low-cost carrier, Tigerair Taiwan, has secured flight rights for three destinations—Zhangjiajie, Quanzhou, and Sanya. Tigerair Taiwan spokesperson Lee Ming-yen stated that preparations for related support measures are underway, aiming to launch flights by the end of the year.

According to the Civil Aeronautics Administration’s flight rights allocation policy, airlines must commence flights within six months of obtaining rights, or the rights may be applied for by other carriers. It is understood that Tigerair Taiwan has been granted two weekly flights to Zhangjiajie, four to Quanzhou, and three to Sanya. These routes were previously applied for by China Airlines and TransAsia Airways but were not operated. Lee Ming-yen said that Tigerair Taiwan will make preparations based on the allocated flight schedules and looks forward to launching flights by the end of the year.
