The show transcends the constraints of time and space, showcasing the beauty of sound and silence. In addition to the performance, the "Rice Wave Cloud Walk" from October 29 to 31 invites participants to walk mindfully through the valley and discover the beauty of Taitung.
This year's "Chishang Harvest Rice Art Festival" welcomes U-Theatre back to Chishang and features the critically acclaimed "Beyond Time" as an outdoor performance for the first time. "Beyond Time" integrates martial arts, drumming, and sacred dance, delving into Zen philosophy and breaking free from the constraints of time and space to present the beauty of sound and silence in the moment. The production set sold-out records during its mainland China tour. Artistic director Liu Ruo-yu mentioned that the original "Beyond Time" used a mirrored floor and projections to create a four-dimensional spatial feel in the theater; this time, the floor and projections have been removed to allow the audience to experience the beauty of the present directly between heaven and earth.
In addition to the "Beyond Time" performance, this year's Chishang Harvest Rice Art Festival expands the focus from a single point to a broader experience, with U-Theatre leading a cloud walk through the valley to explore the unique beauty of towns in Taitung City, Guanshan, and Chishang. Tickets for "Beyond Time" go on sale at 12:00 PM on September 12 through the National Theater and Concert Hall, while registration for the "Rice Wave Cloud Walk" opens online at 12:00 PM on September 10.
