China Southern Airlines will open two new routes by the end of this year, flying to Christchurch in New Zealand and Rome in Italy respectively. To celebrate the new routes, special fares start from 17,000 yuan for Taipei–Christchurch and 15,000 yuan for Taipei–Rome.
China Southern Airlines stated that it will launch the Guangzhou–Christchurch route on December 16, operating three flights per week with a Boeing 787. Christchurch is the largest city on New Zealand’s South Island, with one-third of its area consisting of parks and nature reserves, earning it the reputation of the “Garden City.” On the same day, the Guangzhou–Rome route will also commence, with three weekly flights. Following the successive launches to Christchurch and Rome, China Southern Airlines will operate 67 weekly flights to New Zealand and Australia, and 27 weekly flights to Europe.
