New Governor of Thailand’s Tourism Authority Assumes Office on the 1st, Aims to Rebuild Global Travelers’ Confidence

The new Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, officially assumed office on the 1st. Mr. Yuthasak stated that his top priority is to restore global travelers’ confidence in Thailand, while also stimulating domestic tourism and helping seniors find new ways to travel.

Before taking up the role as Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Mr. Yuthasak served as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT). “Upon assuming the role of Governor, I had already planned to roll out three immediate strategies, including guaranteeing the restoration of global confidence in Thailand, stimulating domestic tourism amid the recent tragic Bangkok bombing incident, and building a better Tourism Authority of Thailand,” said Mr. Yuthasak.

In addition, promoting domestic tourism will also be a top priority. Mr. Yuthasak noted that efforts will target students and seniors not only during school holidays and public holidays but also on regular days and throughout the year, providing these groups with new ways to explore travel destinations within the country.
