Just 25 minutes to Taipei Main Station！ Taiwan Railways’ “Nanshulin Station” to open in November

In recent years, Taiwan Railways has been implementing the Taiwan Railways Urbanization Project. To better serve residents in the Shulin area, a new simplified railway station has been added between Shulin Station and Shanjia Station and named “Nanshulin Station.” Taiwan Railways stated thatthe station is expected to open by the end of November at the earliest, and once operational, it will only take 25 minutes to reach Taipei Main Station.

Taiwan Railways said that the main structure of Nanshulin Station has been completed, with solar panels installed on the roof to provide both energy-saving, carbon-reduction benefits, and aesthetic appeal. Testing of trains, tracks, and punctuality began in October, and the station is expected to officially join the operational fleet by the end of November at the earliest. In the future, it will take just 25 minutes to travel from Nanshulin Station to Taipei Main Station, with approximately one local train every 10 minutes during peak hours, benefiting residents in areas such as Hengkengzi and Dongshan in Shulin.

Once Nanshulin Station opens, there will be three stations—Shulin Station, Nanshulin Station, and Shanjia Station—providing commuter services for residents in the Shulin area. A YouBike rental station is also planned to be set up near the station to help passengers complete the last mile of their journey.
