Taiwan's first locomotive salt sculpture debuts at Qigu Salt Mountain in Tainan!

Can you make a vehicle out of salt? Taiwan's first-ever "Salt-Sculpted Heritage Locomotive" debuted on the 21st at Qigu Salt Mountain, symbolizing “salt” preserving culture and “salt” keeping memories, in harmony with the vintage locomotives on display in the exhibit area.

The "Salt X Memory: White Gold Years of the Salt Village" exhibition at Qigu Salt Mountain has been running since July, featuring the nation’s first large-scale "Heritage Locomotive Salt Sculpture." Every detail from the locomotive’s front to each carriage has been meticulously carved to showcase the unique features of the locomotive. Paired with railway scenery and vintage coastal photos, it simulates the sight of the locomotive speeding through the salt fields, transporting visitors back to the bountiful days of the past.
