The brand “Han Lai Xuan” under Han Lai Cuisine will officially launch its first store in Taiwan on October 20 on the 13th floor of Taichung Guang San SOGO Department Store. Formerly known as Han Lai Cui Yuan Cantonese Restaurant, Han Lai Xuan expanded to Shanghai last October and is now returning to Taiwan this year with strong popularity, choosing Taichung as its first location. Han Lai Xuan combines Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Shanghai cuisines, presenting dishes tailored to local tastes.
Located on the 13th floor of Taichung Guang San SOGO, Han Lai Xuan covers approximately 180 ping (about 594 square meters). The interior design is based on an elegant and luxurious theme. The design team led by Japanese designer Yukihiro Hashimoto blends classical Chinese elements with modern fashion, boldly using a contrast of cracked-glaze celadon green and peach pink, along with traditional Chinese window lattice motifs. The seating includes a snack area with 25 tables offering 80 seats, six private rooms that can accommodate 68 people, and the space can also be arranged into a banquet hall with 18 tables for corporate year-end parties or weddings.

For the menu, signature dishes include Nostalgic Eight-Treasure Duck, Dry-Fried Spicy Chicken, Honeycomb Lychee Mashed Vegetarian Dish, Fruitwood-Smoked Fennel Ribs, Freshly Roasted Peking Duck Slices, Shaoxing Wine Steamed Crab with Year Cake, Gastrodia Elata Braised Fish, Golden Garlic Q Sea Shrimp, and Fruit-Aroma Fresh Juice Shrimp Balls — all chef-recommended must-tries. The Nostalgic Eight-Treasure Duck is a classic Shanghai dish with a complex cooking process. Before preparation, the entire duck is deboned without damaging the skin while preserving a suitable amount of meat. The filling, mixed with glutinous rice, is stir-fried and then stuffed inside the duck. The whole duck is first deep-fried and then steamed.
From October 21 to October 30, the “Spin to Win for Delicious Deals” promotion will also be launched. Each purchase allows one spin, and winners can enjoy their prize dish for just 100 NT dollars on their next visit with the winning ticket.
