The pagoda is an octagonal, seven-story brick tower of the pavilion style, with a stone base. It stands 33.5 meters tall, and the base is 36.64 meters in length. The first floor has a arched gate facing south, above which is embedded a plaque inscribed with the characters “大明” (Ming Dynasty) in regular script. From the second floor upward, doors and niches are opened on all four sides, featuring imitation wooden window lattices, railings, and bracket sets. The roof is covered with glazed tiles in an inverted-bowl design, topped with a small iron pagoda that resembles the main structure in shape.
In May 2006, Yan'en Temple Pagoda, as an ancient architectural structure from the Ming Dynasty, was approved by the State Council to be included in the sixth group of Major National Historical and Cultural Sites.
