Li Family Physician’s Mansion
Li Family Physician’s Mansion is located in Chengxi Community, Decheng Subdistrict Office. In 2001, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Deqing County. Constructed in the mid-Qing Dynasty, it faces south and is built with brick, wood, and stone. The structure has a total width of 12.52 meters and a depth of 50 meters, covering an area of 626 square meters. Originally, it had three bays and five sections (the last section has now collapsed). Each section features a central courtyard and two side corridors, with secondary rooms serving as wing rooms. The main gate has three bays, a recessed entrance, and a raised platform, with five steps leading up to it. The second hall is three bays deep with fifteen roof trusses, featuring a hybrid beam frame of raised beams and through-tenon construction. The beams rest on carved wooden melon-shaped columns and camel hump-shaped supports adorned with intricate floral carvings. This physician’s mansion was built by a member of the Li family in Deqing County who was granted the title of “physician” during the Qing Dynasty, and the residence was constructed to showcase the family’s prestige. It holds significant value for the study of residential architecture from the Qing period.
