Hongqiao
Hongqiao, as the eastern gateway of Baoqing, boasts a long history and has existed as an administrative unit for over a thousand years. It is rich in cultural relics and tourism resources. The Hongqiao bridge is 56 meters long, 7 meters wide, and 8 meters high, featuring six arches. A wind-and-rain pavilion is built on the bridge, which houses a Seven Saints Hall. The Hongqiaopu area along the Dadong Road still retains numerous relics from the past, exuding an antique charm and timeless allure. The former residence of Yuan Guoping, who once served as the Director of the Political Department of the New Fourth Army, is located about 1.5 kilometers from Hongqiao. The former home of General Xie Song, commander of the former 29th Red Army, lies less than 2.5 kilometers away. Additionally, within several kilometers of the Shao River basin surrounding Hongqiao, there have been many notable historical figures, such as Yang Jinlong, the Jiangnan Governor, and educator Li Baogui, making the area rich in cultural heritage.
