Baiyun Temple also holds significant potential value, mainly reflected in two cultural aspects: (1) The development of the Jianwen Emperor’s legacy culture — Baiyun Temple is named after Guizhou’s Changshun Baiyun Mountain, which is said to be the place where the Jianwen Emperor of the Ming Dynasty became a monk (it is also the famous mountain extensively described by Xu Xiake). The Jianwen Emperor left behind many legends and historical sites in Guizhou, and many place names are related to him. The whereabouts of the Jianwen Emperor remain a mystery, which has certain market appeal. Some even speculate: Where did the wealth of the Ming Dynasty go? Could it be hidden in Guizhou? (2) A Guizhou Religious Culture Park. Guizhou is a place where multiple religions coexist harmoniously, with numerous ethnic minority religions and many notable figures in religious history, making a religious-themed park quite attractive.
