Gongsa Monastery in Liangqu Township

Gongsa Monastery, also known as Gong·Gongsa Qukuo Qiangbalin, was originally built in 1611 AD under the direction of Rangdo·Xiajia Renqin. The main worshiped deity is Juba? Jindan Gonpo. It is one of the six major monasteries under the Lhasa Drikung Kagyu sect. The monastery's 0 master (possibly "residence" or "main seat") is located in Ganduo Village, Liangqu Township, which is under the jurisdiction of Liangqu Township, approximately 16 kilometers from the county town. It covers an area of 15,569.28 square meters, with a building area of 17,513.8 square meters. The monastery has a designated quota of 100 monks, but currently has 58 monks. The religious community it serves is quite extensive, mainly covering 40 administrative villages across 10 townships in 4 counties, involving 1,684 households and 10,183 people. There are a total of 33 religious events held throughout the year, with lay followers participating in 17 of them. Among these, one event attracts over 10,000 participants, three events have between 500–5,000 attendees, and 13 events have fewer than 500 participants. There are two events with over 500 participants, and four events with 100–300 participants. The monastery has an annual holiday period from September 26 to December 24.
