Fuchun Wild Horse Ridge in Pujiang
The Fuchun Wild Horse Ridge scenic area lies in the rugged mountains at the headwaters of Zhuzhai in the Hulu River basin in the northwest of Pujiang County, where the three counties (cities) of Pujiang, Jiande, and Tonglu meet. The Jiangyi Highway crosses over the ridge (at an elevation of 688 meters). Covering an area of 20 square kilometers, the scenic area features bizarre peaks and peculiar rocks. The highest among them, Turtle Rock (also known as the “Heaven-Gazing Turtle” or “Divine Turtle Pondering the Sky”), stands at an elevation of 957 meters. Some rocks rise abruptly from the earth, others crouch low like spread-out winnowing baskets, some hang together like curtains, while others take on strange animal or even human-like shapes—each vying in wonder and uniqueness, making every peak uniquely fascinating. The mountains are covered with ancient trees and draped with extraordinary vines across the ridges, boasting rich vegetation. It combines beauty, wonder, seclusion, and wildness, making it a scenic destination with a strong natural charm and outstanding landscapes. Renowned painters such as Ye Qianyu, Kong Zhongqi, and Jiang BaoLin have visited here, drawn by its fame, to write and paint about its splendor.
