Zhenshan Buyi Ethnic Eco-Museum (Zhenshan Buyi Ethnic Museum)

Zhenshan Buyi Ethnic Eco-Museum is situated 21 kilometers southwest of Guiyang, the provincial capital. The mountain village is built on a peninsula, surrounded by water on three sides, with a half-mountain rising straight into the clouds. Over 400 years ago during the “Pacification of Bozhou” campaign, the Ming Dynasty assigned General Li Renyu to station troops here. He and a local Buyi woman started a family, and their descendants have continued for 17 generations. The Ban and Li families have become one, living together in harmony. The cultures of the Han and Buyi ethnic groups have blended well. The village preserves not only the stone walls built by the stationed troops, traditional sanheyuan-style residences, and the Temple of Guan Yu, but also wooden-framed stone slab houses that stand in close rows, creating a rich architectural space that reflects the distinct building styles of Han and Buyi dwellings.
