No. 1 Drift in East China

The Tongmu Stream originates from Huanggang Mountain and Qinglong Waterfall in the Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, and is one of the sources of the Nine-Bend Stream. It is the clearest and purest water source in Wuyi Mountain, located 20 kilometers from the scenic area.

Known as the "No. 1 Drift in East China," the Tongmu Stream drift is a rubber rafting experience. The total drifting distance is 12 li (approximately 6 kilometers), and the entire trip takes about an hour and a half — an exhilarating and thrilling ride. The starting point is in the nature reserve, and the endpoint is near Qinglong River and Taoyuan Valley. With fast-flowing currents, jagged rocks along the way, and constant bouncing up and down, the highest drop reaches 2.8 meters.

There are four or five sections with extremely steep drops. You’ll need to hold on tight to your raft the whole way — non-stop thrills and endless fun. A must-do activity for young travelers visiting Wuyi Mountain.

Traveler tip: Be sure to bring a full change of clothes, as buying clothes there isn’t cost-effective.
