Bathing Valley in Batang

　　Introduction      Bathing Valley in Batang is located in a valley to the south of Batang Township, about 45 kilometers from Jiegu, the seat of the prefecture. At an altitude of 3,900 meters, the valley features winding paths through serene surroundings, lush vegetation, abundant wildlife, and picturesque scenery. The valley is rich in hot springs that contain various trace elements. Historical records indicate that the hot springs in Bathing Valley have been used for bathing and therapeutic purposes for a very long time. On the stones of each spring pool, there are Tibetan inscriptions describing the healing properties of the springs. Some of these inscriptions are still clearly legible, while others have been eroded by wind and are difficult to read.
