  The Revolutionary Site Complex in Ciping is situated on the scenic shores of Yicui Lake and is composed of a cluster of earthen and wooden residential buildings, which include: the former residence of Comrade Mao Zedong, the former site of the Red Fourth Army Headquarters, the former site of the Red Fourth Army Officers’ Training Corps, the former site of the Red Fourth Army Armament Department, the former site of the Public Sales Office of the Gongnongbing Government of the Xin-Sui Border Special District, the former site of the Defense Committee, among others.

  The Former Residence of Mao Zedong: This was also the place where Mao Zedong and Comrade He Zizhen lived and worked together during the struggle in Jinggangshan. On October 27, 1927, after Mao Zedong led the troops of the Autumn Harvest Uprising to Jinggangshan, he often stayed in this rammed-earth house belonging to Li Lichang’s family in Dianshang Village, Ciping. Comrade Mao Zedong also held multiple important Party, government, and military meetings in the hall of this house, discussing and planning various aspects of base area construction.
