Bremen Market Square
The Market Square is located in Bremen and is considered one of the most beautiful places in Germany, attracting visitors from all over the world. The square is filled with distinctive sights that captivate and enchant.

Bremen’s fairy tale legacy continues thanks to the Brothers Grimm. At the corner of the Town Hall next to the Market Square, you’ll find a famous bronze statue of the Bremen Town Musicians from the Grimm fairy tales. The four animal musicians are posed in their classic formation, stacked from top to bottom: a rooster, a cat, a dog, and a donkey, showcasing their united and indomitable spirit. With heads held high and singing — this sculpture originates from the famous 18th-century German fairy tale by the Grimm brothers. The story goes that four animals who had become friends through hardship set out for Bremen to study music, but on the way they encountered robbers planning to raid Bremen. They began to sing loudly, alerting the citizens of Bremen, who then drove the robbers away. Over time, the bronze statue has developed a mottled dark green and black patina, except for the donkey’s two front hooves, which are unusually shiny. It turns out that visitors often rub the donkey’s hooves for good luck.

At the Market Square, visitors can also explore the Renaissance-style Old Town Hall, St. Peter's Cathedral, the Schütting Merchant Guild Hall, the Roland Statue, and more. In addition, there are numerous restaurants and bars, offering great convenience for tourists.
