The exhibition space of the Celle Art Museum covers 1,000 square meters spread over three floors, primarily featuring 20th-century paintings, prints, sculptures, light installations, and object art. This includes numerous series works by Joseph Beuys, which are well worth viewing up close. Like the old town, the Celle Art Museum is also one of a kind—not just during the day, but also at night, when it becomes an enchanting, cohesive artwork. At night, this “artwork” glows brilliantly, resembling a crystal illuminated from within with colorful lights. The glass foyer shines brightly; lighting and sound blur the boundaries between art and space, and the line between the building and the urban environment becomes faint and indistinct.
