The Shanghai Children's Science and Technology Museum was established to fulfill the wish of Soong Ching Ling, "the greatest woman of the 20th century," who believed in "giving children the most precious things in life." With support from various sectors, it was built and officially opened to the public on May 29, 1996. The museum consists of an Aerospace Hall, a Maritime Hall, a Toys Hall, an Exhibition Hall, a Dome Theater, and a Multi-function Hall. The outdoor square, pergolas, greenery, and water features complement four uniquely designed buildings.
