Perched on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the kasbah’s gate is one of the finest examples of Almohad architectural style. The intricate bas-reliefs on its earthen-red walls are uniquely charming and a visual delight. A short walk through the gate leads to an observation platform that offers sweeping views of the Atlantic. This platform once played a crucial role in defending the mouth of the Bou Regreg River. In 2006, the Kasbah of the Udayas was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.
