Located to the west of Louwo Village in the northern part of Shagou Town, also known as Tianmuzhai Mountain. The Qing Dynasty’s “Yi County Annals” recorded: “Chaoyang Mountain is located about a li south of Jiao Mountain, where on both the eastern and western banks, large jagged rocks rise up, facing each other as if in greeting. On the eastern slope, the flow of Longtou Pond meanders beneath, winding and twisting as it flows southward. A sheer cliff lies midstream, with fierce springs leaping across, spraying beads and foam like snow, the sound echoing beyond the waters. Nearby there is a flat rock where dozens can sit. Many visitors come here to drink and compose poetry, and because the rocks resemble those of Liu Zhou, it is called ‘Stone Pond.’” Today, Stone Pond no longer exists. To the south of Chaoyang Mountain lies Nainai Mountain. On the sunny side of Nainai Mountain is Yuhua Spring, and on its western slope is Liangquan Spring. The two springs converge, flow through Nanchang, pass through Yangzhuang, and enter the Grand Canal. In ancient times, Chaoyang Mountain had temples, which have now been rebuilt with funds raised by local residents, attracting many worshippers. The summit of Chaoyang Mountain forms a rugged plateau, with steep cliffs stretching nearly a li. Standing atop the mountain, one enjoys a breathtaking view of the forests, interconnected ponds, winding streams, and vast fertile fields of the Shagou area.
