  Yanxiang Pavilion

Yanxiang Pavilion is situated at the southern end of the Hanjiang Three Gorges Scenic Area, just a few hundred meters from the Guiyuan Service Area. It is the gateway and iconic structure of the Hanjiang Yanxiang Cave Scenic Area, providing visitors with facilities for sightseeing, leisure, and shopping. Together with the Hanjiang Three Gorges, Guiyuan Service Area, Yodo Ancient Town, and Yanxiang Cave, it forms a beautifully landscaped and fully functional eco-tourism destination known as the Hanjiang Yanxiang Cave Ecotourism Scenic Area.

The two-story Yanxiang Pavilion covers a construction area of 600 square meters and features an architectural style reminiscent of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Each of its three levels is uniquely designed: the first floor is entirely concrete, the second entirely steel-beamed, and the third entirely wooden-framed. It also includes office and business facilities. Its grand, rainbow-like arched bridge further enhances the building’s uniqueness and visual appeal.

Spanning the water with a majestic presence, Yanxiang Pavilion boasts gray tiles on a red facade, upturned eaves with ornate brackets, and richly carved beams and painted rafters that give off a resplendent golden glow. Lush mountains frame the bridge in the distance, while two streams converge beneath it. The interplay of green hills, clear waters, the rainbow bridge, and ancient trees creates a breathtaking ink-wash painting. With its “rainbow aura hovering above the void and reflections shimmering in the moonlit waves,” the pavilion’s sweeping eaves and dragon-shaped beams create an impression of majesty and grandeur. Set against the backdrop of distant mountains, its classic and solemn form exudes imposing beauty, earning it recognition as one of the Hanjiang’s great wonders.
