Zhangwang Changfu Palace was first built during the Han Dynasty. It has been destroyed and rebuilt many times throughout the dynasties, boasting a history of over 2,000 years. With its ancient inscriptions and records clearly preserved, it enjoys a certain level of fame in the Huzhou area.
Zhangwang Changfu Palace was rebuilt in the 1980s. Over the past few decades, it has been expanded year after year through donations from devotees, covering an area of approximately 15 acres. The current complex features majestic architecture, including the Lingguan Hall, Changfu Hall, Cihang Hall, Earth God Shrine, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, and West Lodge. It primarily enshrines: Zhangshan Changfu Emperor, Duke Zhongjuan Shi Wang, the Three Pure Ones, Guanyin of Mercy, Lingguan Ye, the God of Literature Wenchang, the God of Wealth, and the Earth God, among others. Every year on the eighth day of the second lunar month, a temple fair attracts numerous worshippers. The resident Taoist clergy adhere strictly to monastic discipline and regulations. They regularly study national religious policies and actively participate in charitable activities. With the support of the government, devotees, and clergy, it is believed that in the near future, the site will become an even better religious and public welfare destination — a celestial paradise and blessed land along the Tiaoxi River.
