Beijing Haidian Hot Spring Village Sightseeing & Picking Garden

　　The Hot Spring Village Cherry Sightseeing & Picking Garden is situated in the southern part of Hot Spring Village and was built in 1996. The garden spans 250 acres and offers more than 10 varieties of cherries for picking, such as Hongdeng, Hongyan, JuHong, Hongmi, Rainier, Lapins, Samito, Dazi, and Naong. The cherries produced here are brightly colored, sweet and juicy, with a richly inviting aroma. They are also grown in an eco-friendly manner, using no chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The Hongdeng variety won the first prize in Beijing’s cherry quality competition for two consecutive years, in 2007 and 2008, making them highly favored by visitors. Immerse yourself in the rich rural atmosphere and enjoy the fun of cherry picking and sightseeing. “Where there is the fragrance of flowers, butterflies will come.” In 2007, the 7th Haidian District Cherry Festival was held at the Hot Spring Village Cherry Picking Garden. During the cherry picking season from mid-May to the end of June 2008, the garden received over 10,000 visitors and sold more than 40,000 kilograms of cherries. Due to its outstanding performance, the Hot Spring Village Cherry Sightseeing & Picking Garden was awarded the title of “Haidian District Excellent Sightseeing Agriculture Demonstration Garden” for 2008 by the Haidian District Agriculture and Forestry Commission and the Haidian District Personnel Bureau. This year, the garden is once again bustling with vitality and promises another bountiful harvest.
