Hongguo
Hongguo is commonly known as hawthorn or mountain hawthorn. In fact, Hongguo is a variety of hawthorn called "big hawthorn." It is larger and more uniformly sized than regular hawthorn, with soft, thick flesh, bright color, small seeds, thin skin, and a pleasantly sweet and sour taste — making it a premium variety of hawthorn. Hongguo is abundantly produced in the mountainous areas of Jixian County, where it has been cultivated for hundreds of years. It is connected with the Xinglong and Zunhua production areas in Hebei Province, forming one of the major hawthorn-producing regions in northern China. The main varieties of Hongguo in Tianjin include Damianqiu, DJinxing, XJinxing, and Mianzha.
