Yushu Rice is a geographical indication certification trademark.
Yushu City, known as the “World’s Number One Granary,” is an important producer of northeastern japonica rice, and its high-quality rice is widely renowned.
Specific qualities: 1. Sensory characteristics: The rice is white in color, transparent, and lustrous. The cooked grains are soft yet not sticky, and leftover rice does not harden upon cooling. It has a fresh and fragrant aroma. 2. Physicochemical indicators: Chalky grain rate ≤30%, chalkiness degree ≤3.0%, amylose content 15% to 20%, gel consistency ≥60mm, alkali spreading value ≥5.0, protein content ≥7.0%. 3. Safety requirements: The product’s safety indicators must meet the national regulations for similar products.
Geographical scope: The irrigation area of the Songhua River, Lalin River, and Kacha River within the latitude range of 44°30′57″–45°15′02″ N and longitude range of 126°01′44″–127°05′09″ E. It includes 94 administrative villages across 12 townships (towns): Sihe, Qingshan, Dapo, Hongxing, Chengfa, Dalin, Huancheng, Baoshou, Xinli, Wukeshu, Xiushui, and Heilin.
