Wulajie Millet
Wulajie millet has a light yellow or white color. When cooked into porridge, it doesn’t become mushy and has a rich, mellow flavor. Grown in Wulajie Manchu Township, Jilin City, this “Wulajie millet” is sweet and slightly cool in nature, known for its benefits in strengthening the spleen, removing dampness, harmonizing the stomach, and promoting sleep. It was once served as a tribute grain to the Qing Dynasty. Millet porridge is highly nutritious and is often praised as the “poor man’s ginseng soup.” Since it doesn’t require refining, millet retains many vitamins and minerals.
