Sea Cucumber from Liaoning
As the birthplace of "Liaoning Sea Cucumber" farming, Dalian has now taken the lead in domestic sea cucumber cultivation, deep processing, and sales. Dandong, Yingkou, Panjin, Jinzhou, and Huludao have quickly followed suit.
The total area for sea cucumber farming in Liaoning Province has reached 600,000 mu, achieving various forms of polyculture such as sea cucumber with shrimp, scallops, fish, and jellyfish, as well as three-tier aquaculture systems including crabs in hanging cages on the water surface, fish in the water, and sea cucumbers underwater. This year, the province has bred 13.8 billion sea cucumber seedlings, meeting the demand for high-quality sea cucumber farming across the country. Due to the continuously expanding scale of "Liaoning Sea Cucumber" farming, Japanese "Kanto Sea Cucumber," which once shared the Liaoning market, has gradually faded out of the provincial market due to its high price and lack of competitiveness.
