Liangzhongqiao Dried Tofu
Liangzhongqiao Dried Tofu is renowned far and wide, boasting a history of over a hundred years since the 14th year of the Guangxu reign in the Qing Dynasty (1888).
Liangzhongqiao Dried Tofu is made from pure beans, has an appealing aroma, a glossy color, is as thin as paper, and boasts exceptional toughness—qualities that have earned it fame near and far. It’s so thin that printed text can be seen through it when placed on a book page, and it can withstand the weight of a ten-kilogram scale weight without breaking. Whether served raw or cooked, it’s a delicacy on any dining table. The town has over 480 year-round production sites, employing more than 1,200 people, with a daily output of 7,000 kilograms of dried tofu. In 1996, it was designated by the provincial government as one of the “Top Ten Local Specialties of Liaoning.” The exceptional quality of Liangzhongqiao Dried Tofu is inseparable from its traditional craftsmanship and the quality of the underground water. In 1996, testing by the Liaoning Testing Center of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources revealed that the groundwater in Liangzhongqiao is a high-quality low-sodium metasilicic acid mineral water. This discovery unveiled the secret behind the tofu’s vivid color, pure flavor, thinness, softness, and remarkable toughness—truly in a class of its own.
