Cordyceps
Cordyceps, also known as caterpillar fungus or dong chong xia cao, is as renowned as ginseng and deer antler. It contains vitamin B12, fat, protein, and other nutrients. Aside from its medicinal properties, it is also a precious tonic. Regular consumption can help strengthen the body, particularly for the elderly, the weak, or those recovering from illness. It is a type of fungus that grows on insect larvae in winter and sprouts a stalk in summer. Cordyceps is not an insect, but a plant. Summer is the best time for harvesting.
