Zhonghe Pomelo

　　The two specialty pomelo varieties of Zhonghe Town are "Yueyou No. 5" and "Aiwǎn Pomelo." "Yueyou No. 5" won a gold medal in the 1986 National Pomelo Competition and was rated as a "High-Quality Fruit" by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2001. Its flesh is soft, juicy, tender, and richly sweet and tangy. "Aiwǎn Pomelo" earned gold medals in the national pomelo competitions of 1999 and 2001, and was named a "Chinese Famous Fruit" at the 2003 National Premium Fruits Exhibition. The fruit has an attractive shape, weighing 4–5 pounds, with crisp, tender flesh that is juicy, tender, moderately sweet and tangy, and richly fragrant.
