Yan Shan Lake Scenic Area

Yan Shan Lake Scenic Area is located 25 kilometers southwest of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, and is part of the Yanwang Bizi Reservoir. The scenic area features a water surface of 23 square kilometers, boasts a prime geographical location, and integrates dining and entertainment, making it an ideal destination for visitors from all walks of life.

Yan Shan Lake Scenic Area consists of a comprehensive management service zone and a central sightseeing zone

, as well as six major zones: a water recreation area, Wanfu Island sightseeing area, Shangri-La scenic area, and an ecological forest landscape area. The frontier landscape presents ever-changing vistas, creating the unique charm of the Yan Shan Lake Scenic Area. Its vast waters stretch as far as the eye can see, offering the spectacular view of a calm lake nestled in high gorges.

Majestic mountains, peculiar rocks, and steep cliffs spark the imagination of visitors; playful fish and birds singing in chorus offer a feeling of returning to nature; and uniquely designed, elegant, and aesthetically pleasing structures add further charm to the scenic area.

The scenic area features dozens of attractions, such as Yanwang Bizi (Yanwang’s Nose), Tiger Mountain, Sparrow on Tiger Hill, Eight Immortals Cliff, Auspicious Dragon Playing with Water, Lucky Bridge Forget-Worry, Golden Toad Gazing at the Moon, Mother and Baby Monkey Mountain, Reclining Buddha Mountain, Mao Gong Mountain, Heaven-Gifted Cloud Ladder, Wanfu Island, Guanyin Cave, and more. The ever-changing scenery along the way keeps visitors enthralled. Especially popular is a local folk rhyme: “Touch Yanwang’s nose, and all illnesses will leave you; lock a chain on the nose bridge, and peace and happiness will multiply,” which is both witty and entertaining, and has become a catchphrase among many visitors. This scenic area was awarded the AA-level tourist attraction status by the National Tourism Administration in 2003.
