Louzishan Mountain is situated within the territories of Yangjiaogou Township, Laoyemiao Town, and Youzhangzi Township in the eastern part of Kazuo County. It has an elevation of 1,091.1 meters and belongs to the central section of the Songling Mountain Range. The majority of the core scenic area consists of forestland, with a forest coverage rate reaching 94.8%. The mountain features complex terrain and topography, a wide diversity of tree species, and dense, varied forest vegetation. It serves as one of the better-preserved natural green barriers in western Liaoning and is the highest peak in the county. On clear, sunny mornings when climbing to the summit, visitors can witness the sunrise over the sea—an awe-inspiring spectacle unique to Liaoning and a remarkable wonder of the northeast.

The Louzishan Scenic Area lies in the transitional zone between the North China flora region and the Inner Mongolia flora region. As a result, it showcases both North China and Mongolian flora types. There are scattered distributions of original plant types as well as forest-steppe and meadow-steppe vegetation characteristic of semi-arid and semi-humid monsoon climates. The scenic area is also located at the intersection of the North China zoogeographic region and the Mongolian-Xinjiang zoogeographic region, giving its animal resources a transitional and mixed character.

The Louzishan Scenic Zone integrates natural landscapes, represented by its vast forest environment, with cultural and humanistic attractions. It is the most well-preserved area of forest ecological vegetation in western Liaoning. Not only is it a nature reserve of the forest type, but it also serves as a high-quality scenic destination. Tourism here encompasses scientific research, educational activities, teaching fieldwork, folk culture, religious tourism, leisure vacations, and official trips.
