Aomulun Scenic Area

The Dalin River, known as "Aomulun" in Mongolian, is the largest river in western Liaoning and the third-largest in Liaoning Province. The Aomulun Scenic Area is located on the western branch of the Dalin River, south of Kazuo County’s urban area, covering an area of 523.97 hectares. The scenic area includes an artificial lake, People’s Square, and a lakeside greenbelt along the riverside road.

The Aomulun Scenic Area was developed in conjunction with the renovation project of the Kazuo urban section of the Dalin River. It makes full use of water resources to enhance the city’s flood control capacity, improve the ecological environment, and elevate the city’s taste and style. Through leisure and recreational activities, it creates a pleasant social atmosphere and a culturally rich leisure space.

The Aomulun Artificial Lake was formed by impounding water from the western branch of the Dalin River, with water levels controlled by a rubber dam. Rows of columnar pines line both banks, and aquatic plants grow naturally, creating a scene that is both tasteful and inviting—much like the scenery in the south of the Yangtze River. People’s Square is situated at the southern end of the entire scenic area. Its design and construction closely follow the geographical features of the ancient Lizhou City, which is nestled against mountains and beside water. It highlights the unique cultural landscape of Kazuo County and incorporates landscape characteristics from famous squares across China. With its distinctive architectural style, it has become another iconic landmark in Kazuo County’s urban development. The Riverside Road Greenbelt covers a total area of 250,000 square meters, with dozens of tree species planted and 6,000 meters of pedestrian scenic pathways laid out, forming a leisure and recreation belt with ethnic characteristics.

The Aomulun Scenic Area is spanned by four beautifully illuminated bridges. The Dalin River Scenic Bridge and its landscape lighting transform Kazuo’s nights into a dazzling and colorful spectacle, making it one of the most stunning sights in the city.
